Privacy Policy

1Privacy at a Glance

Our approach to your photos is simple:

• Your photo library remains on your device.
• SelfieDump does not upload your camera roll to our servers.
• SelfieDump does not operate a server that stores copies of your personal photos.
• Camera-roll discovery and analysis are performed on-device.
• SelfieDump only analyzes photos that you authorize through Apple's Photos permission system — full or limited access, your choice.
• On-device analysis may examine scenes, visual similarity, photo quality, dates, outfits, lighting, location metadata when available, and facial characteristics.
• Face analysis is used for visual grouping and does not attempt to identify someone's real-world identity.
• Only photos you explicitly select — or a collage you've generated, when you request a caption for it — may be sent off your device, directly to the third-party AI provider needed to complete that request. Nothing is first uploaded to a SelfieDump server. Camera-roll discovery and organization remain on-device.
• We do not sell your photos, use them for behavioral advertising, build advertising profiles from your camera roll, or use your private photo library to train our own general-purpose AI models.

2Apple Photos Access

SelfieDump may request permission to access your Apple Photos library because discovering potential posts and collections from your camera roll is a core feature of the App. Depending on the permission you choose through iOS, SelfieDump may have access to: all photos you authorize; only photos you select through Apple's limited Photos access; photo creation and modification dates; image dimensions and orientation; photo location metadata, when available; photo media characteristics; screenshot or similar classifications; selfie-related information available through Apple Photos; and other metadata made available through Apple's PhotoKit framework.

You remain in control of Photos access through Apple's system privacy settings. If you grant SelfieDump limited Photos access, the App can only analyze the photos Apple makes available to it. You may change or revoke this permission at any time through iOS Settings.

3On-Device Photo Analysis

SelfieDump analyzes authorized photos to discover content that may be useful for photo dumps, collections, carousels, collages, and other social-content features. This analysis is designed to occur locally on your device, and may examine scenes and environments, visual similarity, photo quality, sharpness, exposure, lighting, time-of-day characteristics, outfits or visual styles, portrait characteristics, whether faces appear in photos, facial quality and visual similarity between faces, date and time information, existing photo-location metadata, aesthetic or contextual signals, duplicates or near-duplicates, and groups of photos that may belong to the same occasion, location, visual theme, or period.

This processing uses Apple's on-device Vision framework, along with PhotoKit, Core Image, and other on-device Apple frameworks, to analyze your photos directly on your device. Your full photo library is not uploaded to SelfieDump servers, or to any third party, for this on-device scanning and organization.

3.1 iCloud Photos and High-Quality Analysis

Some of your authorized photos may be stored primarily in iCloud Photos, meaning your device may only keep a smaller or optimized version locally until a full-resolution copy is needed. SelfieDump includes an optional setting that lets the App request a higher-quality version of those photos from your iCloud Photos library, through Apple's PhotoKit framework, so it can analyze that photo more accurately on your device.

When this setting is enabled, the higher-quality version is transferred from your iCloud Photos library directly to your device, and SelfieDump analyzes that local copy the same way it analyzes any other authorized photo — on your device. SelfieDump does not send the photo to SelfieDump-owned servers as part of this process, and this is separate from the AI Caption and AI Collage features described later in this Policy, which involve sending explicitly selected photos to a third-party AI provider. Requesting a higher-quality version can increase local device storage usage and use network data; exact caching and storage behavior for these downloaded representations is managed by iOS and Apple Photos, not by SelfieDump.

You can turn this setting off during onboarding or later in Settings inside the App. When it's off, SelfieDump analyzes whatever representation is already available locally. Analysis based on a lower-quality representation may be less accurate, which can affect photo-quality scoring, grouping, Dump Collection suggestions, carousel recommendations, and other analysis results.

4Face Analysis

SelfieDump may detect faces and calculate visual characteristics of faces in authorized photos to help group visually related photographs — for example, identifying selfies that appear to contain the same or visually similar person. This processing occurs on your device and is intended for visual similarity and photo organization, not identity recognition.

SelfieDump does not use this functionality to determine someone's legal identity, identify someone by name, authenticate identity, create a public facial-recognition database, sell facial information, advertise based on facial information, or infer sensitive characteristics such as race, religion, health status, political beliefs, or sexual orientation. Mathematical representations created for similarity analysis may be stored locally on your device to avoid reprocessing the same photos, and are not uploaded to SelfieDump servers.

5Photo Location Metadata

Photos may contain geographic information recorded by your iPhone, camera, or another application. SelfieDump may use existing location metadata attached to photos to understand whether photographs were taken near one another or may belong to the same event, trip, or occasion. This processing occurs locally on your device and this metadata is not uploaded to our servers as part of camera-roll analysis.

Using existing photo metadata is different from continuously tracking the current location of your device. Unless a feature explicitly requests Location Services permission, SelfieDump does not continuously track your live GPS location, and we do not use photo-location information for advertising.

6Local Analysis Data

To avoid repeatedly analyzing the same photographs, SelfieDump may store derived information locally on your device, including Apple Photos asset identifiers, category classifications, visual labels, confidence scores, photo-quality scores, similarity information, perceptual hashes, visual feature representations, facial similarity representations, grouping information, and processing status. This supports features such as collections, photo discovery, similarity grouping, and carousel suggestions. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not uploaded to our servers.

You can clear locally stored analysis information at any time from Settings inside the App. Deleting the App also removes locally stored SelfieDump application information in accordance with normal iOS behavior.

7AI Caption Generation

SelfieDump includes an optional AI Caption feature that suggests captions for photos you select, including photos from your library and AI Collages you've generated within the App. SelfieDump does not automatically send photos or generated collages to any AI provider for captioning — they are sent only when you choose to use the Caption Generator and request caption suggestions for that specific photo or collage. Only the photo or collage selected for that particular request is transmitted; your other photographs remain on your device.

7.1 Where Selected Photos Are Sent

Selected photos, or AI Collages you generate and then select for captioning, are transmitted from the App directly to OpenAI, the third-party AI provider used to generate caption suggestions — not to a SelfieDump-owned server. They may be accompanied by information necessary to process the request, such as the tone or style you selected and other technical parameters.

7.2 Consent Before AI Processing

Using the Caption Generator is optional. Before photos are transmitted to OpenAI, SelfieDump will provide appropriate information about the external processing and obtain permission where required. If you don't want your selected photographs transmitted to a third-party AI service, don't use the Caption Generator — all other on-device discovery and organization functionality continues to operate normally.

7.3 AI Provider Retention

SelfieDump does not retain copies of photos submitted for AI Caption generation on SelfieDump-owned servers, because those photos are not uploaded to SelfieDump servers. OpenAI processes and retains submitted content according to its own applicable API privacy and retention terms, summarized below.

OpenAI — When OpenAI processes an AI Caption request through its API, submitted content may generally be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days for service operation, safety, and abuse prevention, unless a different eligible retention configuration applies or longer retention is required by law. OpenAI does not use API content to train its general-purpose models by default, unless the API customer explicitly opts in.

7.4 Local Generation History

In addition to OpenAI's retention practices described above, SelfieDump stores a generation history on your device — the photo or collage you selected for captioning, and the caption result — as described in the Generated Collages and Content and Data Retention sections of this Policy.

7.5 AI Training

SelfieDump does not use your photographs to train our own general-purpose AI models. SelfieDump does not intentionally opt in to provider programs or configurations that use users' AI Caption photos to train general-purpose AI models.

8AI Collage Generation

SelfieDump includes an AI Collage feature. Unlike the camera-roll discovery system, AI Collage generation may require third-party cloud AI processing. SelfieDump does not automatically send photos to the AI provider — photos are sent only when you choose to use the AI Collage feature, explicitly select the photos you want to use, and request generation of the collage. Only the photos selected for that particular request are transmitted; your other photographs remain on your device.

8.1 Where Selected Photos Are Sent

Selected photos are transmitted from the App directly to the third-party AI provider that processes your request — not to a SelfieDump-owned server. The specific provider used depends on the AI model you select within the App when creating the collage. SelfieDump's current AI Collage providers are OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Black Forest Labs (FLUX); selecting a particular model determines which of these providers receives your selected photos for that generation. Your request may also be accompanied by information necessary to process it, such as collage-generation instructions, selected visual style, layout or aspect-ratio preferences, and other technical parameters.

8.2 Consent Before AI Processing

Using AI Collage is optional. Before photos are transmitted to the third-party AI provider, SelfieDump will provide appropriate information about the external processing and obtain permission where required. If you don't want your selected photographs transmitted to a third-party AI service, don't use the AI Collage feature — all other on-device discovery and organization functionality continues to operate normally.

8.3 AI Provider Retention

SelfieDump does not retain copies of photos submitted for AI Collage generation on SelfieDump-owned servers, because those photos are not uploaded to SelfieDump servers. Each third-party AI provider processes and retains submitted content according to its own practices, summarized below.

OpenAI — When OpenAI processes an AI Collage request through its API, submitted content may generally be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days for service operation, safety, and abuse prevention, unless a different eligible retention configuration applies or longer retention is required by law. OpenAI does not use API content to train its general-purpose models by default, unless the API customer explicitly opts in.

Google Gemini — When Google Gemini processes an AI Collage request through a paid API service, submitted content is not used to improve Google's products. Google may retain information as necessary for safety, abuse prevention, security, and applicable legal or regulatory purposes. Certain optional Gemini API features or logging configurations may have separate retention periods.

Black Forest Labs (FLUX) — When Black Forest Labs' FLUX models process an AI Collage request, selected photos are processed according to Black Forest Labs' applicable privacy, security, and retention practices. SelfieDump does not retain copies of those photos on its own servers.

8.4 Local Generation History

In addition to each provider's retention practices described above, SelfieDump stores a generation history on your device — the photos you selected and the collage SelfieDump generated — as described in the Generated Collages and Content and Data Retention sections of this Policy.

8.5 AI Training

SelfieDump does not use your photographs to train our own general-purpose AI models. Selfie Dump does not intentionally opt in to provider programs or configurations that use users' AI Collage photos to train general-purpose AI models.

9Other AI and Smart Features

SelfieDump may describe certain features as "AI," "smart," or intelligent. These features fall into two categories.

On-device smart features — including Dump Collections, Top Vibes, carousel suggestions, visual similarity grouping, photo-quality analysis, scene and outfit or aesthetic classification, and face similarity grouping — use automated image-analysis technologies that operate entirely on your device and do not require your photos to be uploaded to SelfieDump servers or to any third-party AI provider.

External AI features — currently AI Caption generation and AI Collage generation — require sending your explicitly selected photos (or, for captions, a collage you've generated) to a third-party AI provider, as described in the AI Caption Generation and AI Collage Generation sections above. If a future feature requires sending photographs to an additional external AI provider, we'll update this Privacy Policy and provide any additional disclosure or consent required before enabling it.

10Generated Collages and Content

SelfieDump may generate AI collages, photo collections, carousel suggestions, recommended photo combinations, and other creative outputs, stored locally on your device.

For AI Caption and AI Collage requests specifically, SelfieDump also stores a generation history on your device: the source photos you selected for that request, and the caption or collage SelfieDump generated in response, are saved locally in the App's Application Support storage so you can review past results. This local generation history remains on your device until you delete it, and is separate from — and does not affect — the original photos in your Apple Photos library. You can delete this generation history at any time from Settings > Photos & Privacy inside the App.

SelfieDump does not automatically publish generated content to social-media platforms — you decide whether to save, export, add to Apple Photos, share, or post it elsewhere. When you share content with Instagram, TikTok, Messages, or another third-party service, that service's own privacy policy applies to what you send it.

11Premium Subscriptions

SelfieDump may offer a weekly auto-renewable Premium subscription and a yearly auto-renewable Premium subscription. Premium subscribers receive access to Premium functionality, which may include a specified number of AI Collage generations during the applicable subscription period — AI Collage generation is not unlimited. The included allowance is clearly displayed within the relevant subscription offer or paywall and refreshes each subscription period.

12Apple In-App Purchases

Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store In-App Purchase system. We do not receive your full credit or debit card number, bank-account information, Apple Account password, or complete Apple payment credentials. Apple handles payment processing according to its own terms and privacy practices.

13RevenueCat

SelfieDump may use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, purchases, Premium entitlements, and related purchase functionality. RevenueCat may process an anonymous or app-specific identifier, purchased product identifiers, App Store transaction information, subscription status and renewal/expiration information, purchase history, entitlement status, receipt or transaction validation information, and limited technical information related to the App or device. We use this to determine Premium status, unlock features, validate and restore purchases, and manage subscription and AI-generation entitlements. SelfieDump does not send your photo library or selected AI Caption or AI Collage photographs to RevenueCat.

14Technical Information for Online Services

When you use functionality that communicates over the internet, our services or third-party providers may automatically receive limited technical information necessary to deliver and protect the service — IP address, device type, iOS version, App version, language or region, request timestamps, technical error information, anonymous service identifiers, and information needed for security, fraud prevention, and rate limiting. We do not combine this information with your camera-roll analysis to create behavioral advertising profiles.

15Support Communications

If you contact us, we may receive information you voluntarily provide — your email address, message, screenshots, diagnostic information, purchase or subscription identifiers, or other information you choose to share. Please don't send personal photographs or sensitive information in support requests unless necessary. We use this to respond to your request, investigate problems, provide support, prevent misuse, improve reliability, and comply with applicable legal requirements.

16How We Use Information

Information described in this Privacy Policy may be used to operate SelfieDump; provide authorized photo-library functionality; analyze photographs locally; organize photos into Dump Collections; identify visual similarities; recommend photo combinations and carousel suggestions; generate requested AI Captions and AI Collages; manage Premium access and subscription entitlements; validate and restore purchases; protect against fraud and abuse; maintain service security; troubleshoot technical problems; provide customer support; comply with applicable laws; and enforce our Terms of Use. Separately, we use Firebase Analytics information to understand how users interact with SelfieDump, measure feature usage, improve product usability, and improve performance and reliability. We do not use your camera roll for unrelated advertising.

17Information We Do Not Sell

SelfieDump does not sell your photographs, camera roll, facial-analysis information, photo-location metadata, visual similarity information, photo classifications, AI Caption or AI Collage inputs or outputs, or personal information for monetary compensation. We do not use Photos-derived information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not provide advertisers with access to your private photo library.

18Third-Party Services

Apple provides App Store distribution, PhotoKit and Apple Photos, iCloud Photos functionality, In-App Purchases, subscriptions, and device operating-system functionality, handled according to Apple's own privacy practices.

RevenueCat may process purchase-related information to manage subscriptions and Premium entitlements, and does not receive your photos from SelfieDump.

Firebase Analytics (Google) is used to understand app usage and improve product performance and usability, as described in the Firebase Analytics section of this Policy. Firebase Analytics does not receive your photo library, local photo-analysis results, or photos selected for AI Caption or AI Collage generation.

OpenAI — when you explicitly request AI Caption generation, the photo or AI Collage you select is sent to OpenAI to generate caption suggestions. OpenAI may also receive selected photos when you explicitly request AI Collage generation using an OpenAI-based model. Other photos in your library are not included, and selected content is not routed through or stored on SelfieDump servers.

AI Collage Providers — when, and only when, you explicitly request AI Collage generation, the photos selected for that generation are sent to the AI provider associated with the model you choose within the App — currently OpenAI, Google Gemini, or Black Forest Labs (FLUX) — for the purpose of completing your requested generation. Other photos in your library are not included, and selected photos are not routed through or stored on SelfieDump servers. Each provider processes and secures the photos it receives according to its own applicable privacy and security practices, consistent with the disclosures in this Policy.

19Advertising and Tracking

SelfieDump does not use your photo library for behavioral advertising. We do not use faces, outfits, scenes, photo locations, collections, visual interests, photo metadata, photo similarity, or AI-generated content to create advertising profiles. SelfieDump does not currently display third-party behavioral advertising. If our advertising practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and applicable App Store privacy disclosures before those changes take effect.

20Data Retention

Photos — SelfieDump does not maintain a copy of your personal photo library on our servers.

Local Analysis — remains on your device until you delete it, the App removes outdated analysis, or you uninstall SelfieDump.

AI Generation History — the photos you select for AI Caption or AI Collage requests, and the captions or collages SelfieDump generates for you, are stored locally on your device (in the App's Application Support storage) as generation history, described further in the Generated Collages and Content section above. This history remains on your device until you delete it from Settings > Photos & Privacy, the App removes outdated history, or you uninstall SelfieDump. Deleting this history does not delete the original photos from your Apple Photos library.

Higher-Quality iCloud Photos — when the optional high-quality analysis setting is on, higher-resolution photo versions transferred from your iCloud Photos library are cached and stored locally according to iOS and Apple Photos' own behavior, which may increase device storage usage. SelfieDump does not control how long Apple keeps these local representations. This is separate from SelfieDump's own locally stored analysis data, described above, which you can clear anytime from Settings.

AI Caption Photos — not retained on SelfieDump servers; handled by OpenAI per its own applicable API processing and retention terms.

AI Collage Photos — not retained on SelfieDump servers; handled by the third-party AI provider per its own processing and retention practices.

Purchase Information — the App, Apple, and RevenueCat may process or maintain information necessary to determine subscription entitlements, purchase status, and applicable generation allowances, validate transactions, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and meet legal or accounting obligations.

Analytics Information — Firebase Analytics information is retained according to Google's standard Firebase Analytics data-retention settings, for the product-analytics purposes described in the Firebase Analytics section of this Policy.

Support Requests — retained as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain records, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations.

21Your Privacy Choices

Control Photos Access — through iOS Settings, you may give full library access, allow only selected photos, modify the selection, or revoke access entirely. If revoked, SelfieDump can no longer access photographs Apple no longer makes available, and certain core features may stop working.

AI Caption and AI Collage — both optional. If you don't want photographs transmitted to a third-party AI provider, don't submit them for AI Caption or AI Collage generation; on-device photo-discovery and organization functionality is unaffected.

High-Quality iCloud Photo Analysis — you can turn this optional setting on or off during onboarding or anytime in Settings inside the App. Turning it off does not revoke Photos access — it only changes whether SelfieDump requests higher-quality versions of photos from your iCloud Photos library for analysis. Analysis based on lower-quality local representations may be less accurate.

Delete Analysis Data / Generation History — available anytime from Settings > Photos & Privacy inside the App, where you can delete locally stored analysis data and AI generation history (selected photos and the captions or collages generated from them, stored in the App's Application Support storage). Deleting this data removes it from SelfieDump only — it does not delete the original photos from your Apple Photos library. Deleting the App also removes locally stored SelfieDump application information in accordance with normal iOS behavior.

22Subscription Management

Weekly and yearly subscriptions are managed through Apple's subscription system. You may manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple Account/App Store subscription settings. Deleting SelfieDump does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Purchase restoration is provided where applicable through Apple's purchase infrastructure.

23Security

We use reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative safeguards designed to protect information processed through SelfieDump. Our primary safeguard is data minimization: camera-roll discovery stays on-device, the full photo library is never uploaded to us, Selfie Dump doesn't store photos on our servers, and only user-selected photos for AI Caption or AI Collage processing may leave the device — only for the requested operation. No electronic transmission or storage system can guarantee absolute security; you should also protect your device and Apple Account with appropriate device-security measures.

24International Processing

Our third-party providers, including our AI providers (OpenAI, which processes AI Caption requests and AI Collage requests; and Google Gemini and Black Forest Labs (FLUX), which process AI Collage requests when you select a model associated with that provider), Firebase Analytics, and RevenueCat, may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required by applicable law, appropriate safeguards will be used for international transfers of personal information.

25Legal Bases for Processing

Where laws such as the EU's GDPR apply, our processing may rely on: Consent (e.g. granting Photos permission, sending selected photos for AI Caption generation, sending selected photos for AI Collage generation, voluntarily providing information); Performance of a Contract (providing Premium functionality, AI Caption and AI Collage generation, subscription entitlements); Legitimate Interests (preventing fraud, securing the service, debugging, reliability, protecting SelfieDump and its users); and Legal Obligations (complying with applicable law or valid legal process).

26Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, applicable laws may provide rights to request access, correction, or deletion; restrict or object to certain processing; request portability; withdraw consent; or lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. Because much of SelfieDump's photo processing occurs only on your device, we may not possess or have access to that locally stored information. 27California Privacy Rights

Where applicable, California residents may have rights regarding personal information, including rights to access, know, correct, or delete certain information. SelfieDump does not sell personal information for monetary compensation, and does not use your Photos-derived information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Privacy requests may be submitted through the contact information below.

28Children's Privacy

SelfieDump is a general-audience application and is not specifically designed or directed to children.

We do not knowingly collect or process personal information from children in violation of applicable child-privacy laws. Where applicable law requires the consent or involvement of a parent or legal guardian, the App should be used only with the required parental or guardian authorization.

If we become aware that personal information from a child has been collected in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete or otherwise handle that information as required by law.

Additional age-related privacy protections and requirements may apply depending on the user's country or region.

29Photos Containing Other People

Your camera roll may include photographs of friends, family members, children, colleagues, or other people. SelfieDump may process such photos locally as part of the functionality you request. If you select those photographs for AI Caption or AI Collage generation, they may be sent to the applicable third-party AI provider as described above. You are responsible for respecting applicable privacy, intellectual-property, publicity, and other rights when using, generating, publishing, or sharing content containing other people.

30Ownership of Your Photos

You retain your rights in your photographs and other content. Granting SelfieDump access to Apple Photos does not transfer ownership of those photographs to SelfieDump, and submitting selected photos for AI Caption or AI Collage generation does not transfer ownership either. You authorize the necessary processing of selected content only for the purpose of providing the functionality you requested, subject to this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

31Changes to This Privacy Policy

SelfieDump may evolve over time. We may update this Privacy Policy when features, an AI provider, third-party services, data practices, legal requirements, or privacy/security practices change. When changes are made, we'll update the "Last Updated" date. If a material change requires additional consent under applicable law or Apple's requirements, we'll request that consent before beginning the new processing.

32Firebase Analytics

SelfieDump uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App and to improve product performance and usability.

Firebase Analytics may process information such as an app-instance identifier, device and operating-system information, App version, general geographic information derived from IP address, app launches, sessions, screen views, feature interactions, and In-App Purchase events. We use this information for product analytics, reliability, and product improvement.

SelfieDump does not provide Firebase Analytics with your photo library, local photo-analysis results, facial similarity data, photo-location metadata derived from your library, or photos selected for AI Caption or AI Collage generation.

We do not use Firebase Analytics data for cross-app behavioral advertising.
